CIE Student Panchayat 2009-2010

The three days orientation programme for the newly inducted B.Ed. students was organised. This orientation enabled them to become familiar with the activities and programmes of the Department. The Students' Panchayat was installed by Prof. Najma Siddiqi, an esteemed former faculty member. In the panchayat, the main principle is not to focus on competitiveness but rather to take the activities in the spirit of developing leadership and promoting cooperation among students.

Among various activities, the panchayat successfully organized a Koodiyattam performance by Su. Kapila Venu under the aegis of SPIC MACAY. Other activities included organisation of quiz debates, music and dance performances, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.  A screening of the documentary movie, "I Wonder" was held, followed by a discussion with the Director. The Hindi society, ABHIVYAKTI, celebrated the Hindi Diwas by organising a Hindi Kavi Sammelan, a skit and speeches. The teachers also took the stage and showed their skills in poetry
