CIE Student Panchayat 2010-2011

The three days orientation programme for the newly inducted B.Ed. students was organised. This orientation enabled them to become familiar with the activities and programmes of the Department. The Students' Panchayat was installed by Prof. M.P. Singh. In the panchayat, the main principle is not to focus on competitiveness but rather to take the activities in the spirit of developing leadership and promoting cooperation among students.

Among various activities, the panchayat successfully organized a

(i)      Workshop on "Right to Education" by Prof. Krishna Kumar

(ii)      Oddissi Dance performance by Smt. Kavita Dwibedi under the aegis of SPIC MACAY.

(iii)     Screening of a documentary "Gandhi's Children" based on the life of orphans in NGO.

(iv)     Talk on puppetry by eminent padmshree awardee "Dadi Padumjee"

(v)      Screening of Indian classical movie "Meghe Dhaka Tara" by Ritwik Ghak.
